General
Part of our Coastal Collection. Please note this property is not waterside, however it is a 20 minute walk from Loch Awe.
Nestled in the village of Kilchrenan along the shores Loch Awe is where you will find The Posting House. Surrounded by nature providing an abundance of opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing, water sports or just general exploration.
This 3 bedroom property can accommodate up to 6 people in 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom. The property hosts a large garden for relaxation and unwinding or for children to play. The Posting House was formerly the village post office and is over 100 years old. The building has just undergone a complete refurbishment to create a welcoming but homely atmosphere. From the moment you step inside you will feel the warmth and comfort that gives you that cosy home from home feel. Your own personal artisan hamper full of sweet and savoury treats awaits, tempting you with the flavours of the local area.
If you are looking for some complete rest and relaxation then you will achieve it here. You are graced with stunning scenery all around and will find the peace and tranquillity that you are looking for. Take a short walk in the clean fresh air and you will find yourself on the banks of Loch Awe which is famous for its fishing, in particular the Ferox Brown Trout. The quiet country lanes and forest paths make this an excellent location for cycling and the open water is popular for wild swimming and paddle boarding. After a day of exploring head over to the Kilchrenan Inn to try out some traditional Scottish dishes with a modern twist.
Further afield take a short 30 minute car journey to the coastal town of Oban. From here you can explore the western islands of Mull and Iona by ferry. The short 45 minute journey takes you the enchanted colourful streets of Tobermory, the dramatic cliff top Duart Castle or the miles of pristine beaches such as the famous Calgary Bay. Oban itself, is known as the seafood capital of Scotland so be sure to try out the local delicacies, perhaps after a brisk walk to McCaigs tower for the spectacular view over Oban Bay. Finish with a wee dram of whisky from the Oban distillery, one of the smallest and oldest in Scotland.
