Lynher Retreat is located within the Notter Bridge Holiday Park in Saltash, Cornwall, Situated alongside woodland of the River Lynher your retreat has a modern and contemporary feel with an open plan dining/lounge area and a fully fitted kitchen. The retreat can sleep up to 4 guests, with a master double bedroom with an ensuite WC and also twin room with a family bathroom. Lynher is in a prime location with patio doors opening from the lounge to provide views of the natural woodland. At the rear the decking provides direct fishing access into the River Lynher. A variety of fish such as Sea Trout, Brown Trout, Salmon, Mullet, Sea bass and even small Plaice can be caught directly from the river. Please ensure you have a valid rod licence. The closed season is from 15 March – 15 June.
Also on site there is a woodland nature walkway within the grounds of Notter Bridge. This offers secluded walks around the boundary of the park. Along this route you will also find a small fishing and nature pond with a selection of some local fish. Also, at the end of the park there is a slipway available. This provides the opportunity for launching canoes, kayaks and paddleboards directly onto the River Lynher. The emphasis is on peace, tranquillity and relaxation when you arrive here but you are in an excellent location to get and explore everything that Devon and Cornwall has to offer.
Whether you are into history, nature, engineering, or some precious family time there are activities on the doorstep to suit everyone. Locally, the town of Saltash is worth a stroll with many independent shops, bars, cafes and restaurants and is a good way to familiarise yourself with the area as it borders both the counties of Devon and Cornwall. Host to the famous Royal Albert Bridge and designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, this is a must see whilst in the area. There is a visitor centre explaining all about the engineering and talks run 3 times a week at 11am. The naval port at Plymouth is steeped in history and has lovely cobbled streets and a bustling new marina at Royal William Yard. Britain’s largest aquarium is also located in Plymouth. Tregantle beach is a good choice on a summer’s day with a long stretch of sand and at low tide is excellent for its rock pools. However you decide to spend your holiday we are sure a visit at Notter Bridge will entice you to come back to the area time and time again.
