Ideal for a romantic getaway or for a little fishing retreat there is a small veranda at the entrance to your glamping pod with a full size sliding patio door leading inside. On a sunny day, this can be opened and you can catch the summer breeze whilst relaxing on the sofa. This area converts into your double bed in the evening but you also have 2 comfy chairs for relaxing in the evening or having your morning cuppa as the sunlight starts to steam through. In the cooler months you have warm air heating to keep you nice and cosy. The pod is equipped with a small kitchen comprising of a microwave, kettle, toaster and crockery and you also have a family bathroom adjacent to the living space.
On site there is a woodland nature walkway within the grounds of Notter Bridge. This offers secluded walks around the boundary of the park. Along this route you will also find a small fishing and nature pond with a selection of some local fish. Fishing is also available on the River Lynher. Here you can catch Brown Trout and also some Atlantic Salmon. Please ensure you have valid rod licence. The closed season is 15 March – 15 June. If you are feeling more active then at the end of the park there is a slipway available. This provides the opportunity for launching canoes, kayaks and paddleboards directly onto the River Lynher. For those interested in wildlife be sure to bring your binoculars along as you may spot otters, kingfishers and other unique birdlife such as the black tailed godwit or the avocet. In fact the river is a nature haven for wildlife enthusiasts.
On arrival you can’t help but take in the peace and tranquillity that this unique location offers, enjoy the slower pace of life and recharge the batteries. However, you are in a prime spot to get out and explore everything that Devon and Cornwall has to offer. For those of you who like stately homes then a visit to either Port Eliot House and Gardens which hosts a Grade 1 listed house and gardens or head to the National Trust Cotehele Estate will give you a glimpse into life in a Tudor house, mill and gardens. Closer to the park and only a 10 minute drive will take you across the famous Tamar Bridge to a visitor centre explaining all about the engineering of the Tamar and Brunel bridges. Free talks run 3 times a week at 11am. Continue your day by heading into Saltash for a spot of lunch and a stroll round many of their independent shops. If the weather is nice head over to the rugged Tregantle Beach which has a long stretch of sand and some excellent rock pools. Access is via a steep winding path.
