Moorhens' Rest is an mid of terrace New England style lakeside lodge situated on a gated development within the Cotswold Water Park. Moorhens' Rest is positioned overlooking Windrush Lake which is well stocked for fishing and offers a great base from which to explore the area. Isis Lake is also a short walk away. This spacious 3 bedroom lodge is pet friendly (One well behaved dog is welcome in this lodge) and can accommodate up to 6 people in 1 x master king sized double bedroom with doors opening out onto a Juliette balcony, 1 x double bedroom and a twin bedroom with stacking beds. There is a light and airy open plan living, dining and kitchen area with patio doors opening on to your own decking overlooking the tranquil lake setting. The extended south facing patio area is fully equipped with table, chairs and BBQ. This homely lodge is equipped with everything you need to make the most of your relaxing stay.
This stunning property is set in a lovely quiet location, close to Cirencester. There are plenty of places to eat nearby serving a variety of meals from fish and chips at the local chip shop to a curry at the local Indian restaurant. A short walk around the lake will bring you The De Vere Hotel, brasserie, bar and Spa 6 if you fancy a bit of pampering or a nice dining experience. With such a wide variety of facilities on your doorstep, this is an ideal location for families and all you need to do is turn up, relax and unwind. The Cotswold Water Park covers 40 square miles and has over 150 different lakes. Churn Pool Fishery and Cotswold Sailing Club are both located nearby to your lodge.
A little further afield you will find the pretty village of South Cerney with a shop and good pubs/restaurants. Another 3 miles will bring you to the vibrant market town of Cirencester which is famous for its Roman history. If you visit on a Monday or Friday you will find lots of stalls set up in the Market Place. Take time to visit the Corinium Museum or the Roman Amphitheatre. On a Sunday you may lucky enough to catch a polo match at the local Bathurst Estate.
On return to your lodge enjoy relaxing and dining alfresco on your patio as you watch the sun go down over your peaceful lake setting.
