General

At Melfort Harbour and Pier Resort there are a range of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom Scandinavian style houses available which are situated around a harbour with superb views over Loch Melfort. Located on the West Coast of Scotland these lovely cottages are just 16 miles south from the popular town of Oban.

Quayside Terrace Suite is a ground floor self-catering cottage which sleeps 4 and is pet friendly. This semi-detached house is located right above the private harbour and is ideal for a holiday with family or friends. The open plan living, dining and kitchen area opens onto a furnished terrace area with views towards the Loch. Have your morning cuppa out here as you enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the beauty around you or dine al fresco in the evening as you watch the sun set over the mountains and sea. After a busy day relax your aching muscles in your very own private sauna or have a serene spa bath full of bubbles.

This is one of the most beautiful locations by the sea providing an ideal touring base for the Highlands and Islands. The scenery and the clean fresh air are the main attraction here so make sure you get and explore. Fishing is available directly from the pier just below your accommodation or bring along your kayak or sailing dinghy to get out on the water. Moorings are available but charges do apply.

A nice day trip is to the coastal town of Oban, which is only a 30 minute drive away. Here you can try the local seafood and whisky after a walk up to McCaigs Tower for a lovely view over Oban Bay. If you wish to explore the islands you can easily take the ferry over to Mull and Iona. Another popular trip is out to the whirlpool at Corryvreckan. Here you see the tides collide to create the whirlpool in the straits between the islands of Jura and Scarba. This is quite a sight to behold and is classed as the third largest whirlpool in the world. In amongst the thrill seeking look out for sea eagles, dolphins, otters, porpoises or if you are lucky a golden eagle soaring high above you. Return from your holiday, rested, recharged and revitalised.
