Fisherman's Lodge is located in the village of Stretton Sugwas near Hereford. Surrounded by countryside, this one bedroom lodge is the perfect couple’s getaway. Located on the edge of a stream this is the ideal spot for those of you who like to fish. The nearby lake is naturally fed from the stream which ensures a continuous fresh water supply which helps keep the fish stocks replenished. You will have unlimited access to the fishing lake during your stay but please bring your own equipment.

This contemporary styled lodge can accommodate 2 people in a double bedroom, plus an additional 2 people using the sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, 4 ring induction hob, microwave, fridge, kettle & toaster. The living area has bi-folding doors which open on to a decking area with a glass sided balcony. Have your morning cuppa out here or grab a book for a quiet couple of hours. Your lodge also has a wood fired hot tub next to the pretty stream that runs alongside. Relax here before dinner, after a day of activities or a relaxing afternoon of fishing. There is also a BBQ in the grounds for guests to use if they wish so fire this up at the end of your day and dine alfresco at the dining table on the outdoor eco decking. For those cooler evenings you can snuggle down in front of the cosy wood burning stove and watch a film.

If you wish to explore the local area then the Cathedral city of Hereford is not far away for a day out. Located on the River Wye, the centre of the city is known to have an old core called the High Town. It is a pleasure to stroll around this pedestrianised area and explore the many independent shops and cafes. After a spot of lunch perhaps visit the Museum of Cider which is about a 10 minute walk west of the city centre. Located in the old Bulmers factory, the museum owns and manages around 50 acres of orchards west of Hereford. Some circular walks of some of the orchards are downloadable from their website. Alternatively, take a tour of the museum and combine it with a cider tasting.

No visit to Hereford is complete without taking in the wonderful medieval architecture of the Cathedral dating back as early as the 7th Century and also the Jacobean timber-framed house known as the Black and White House Museum. You will also the see the bronze Hereford Bull statue outside the house in recognition of the cattle famous to the area. Return after your busy day and relax in the hot tub or have an aperitif on your balcony before dinner.
