The Hayloft is an idyllic holiday cottage located in the small hamlet of Aish, near the pretty village of Stoke Gabriel, which nestles on the banks of the River Dart in the Devon countryside. Only 2 miles from the charming historic town of Totnes, great for a shopping trip with a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Inside, The Hayloft has been furnished to a high standard and is (NSA) M1 accredited - National Accessible Scheme Assessment rating of Mobility One (older and less agile guests). The perfect choice for a small family or couples, sleeping 4 comfortably in two bedrooms.

The Hayloft is one of three holiday cottages at this location situated in a beautiful part of Devon, an extremely popular holiday destination, perfect for exploring all the delights of South Devon and Dartmoor.

Location Information

The Orchard Garden - Available for all guests to enjoy. Relax on a sunbed or in one of the hammock chairs. There is also a large gazebo & rattan furniture set in over an acre of communal grounds. There are also swings & a trampoline.

The Garden Shed - Full of garden games (croquet, cricket, football etc.) & buckets, spades, crabbing lines & nets for those days at the beach.

The Island Rose Garden - This lovely peaceful, private rose garden is on the opposite side of the road to the main house & is available to book (free of charge). It has fabulous views over the valley & countryside beyond. Not suitable for young children unless they are supervised.

Scandinavian BBQ Lodge - Set within the Rose Garden is the cosy BBQ lodge which is ideal for a meal with friends or family. Seating up to 15 people the BBQ Lodge is available to be booked in advance at no extra charge. Coal is provided. For safety reasons children will need to be accompanied at all times.

EV Charging - Rolec EV 32 Amp static post which is free to use by our guests.

Crabbing - A popular location to try this is at Mill Pond in Stoke Gabriel).

Dartmoor National Park - Only 10 miles away.

Local Beaches in Goodrington - North Sands and South Sands are approx. 5 mins from the cottages. North Sands is pet friendly.

Please read these terms and conditions below before signing the declaration on the previous page – should you not understand anything please call us.

Contract:

The Contract for a short-term holiday rental will be between the Owners of Aish Cross Holiday Cottages (referred to as “us” or “we”) and the person making the booking and all members of the holiday party (referred to as “you” or “your”) under the following booking conditions. UK law will govern the Contract. The contract of hire is not effective until we have received and processed the deposit. The contract will be subject to these booking conditions, and must be complied with. The party leader must be at least 18 years of age at the time of booking and the booking form must list names, addresses and ages of your party.

Booking Periods:

From 16.00 Saturday to 09.15 Saturday – short breaks by arrangement. Booking by telephone must be confirmed using the booking form.

Charges and Terms:

A telephone booking must be accompanied by a 30% non-returnable deposit. A damage deposit is payable upon request, refunded upon the satisfactory completion of the rental period. Breakages are charged at our discretion.

The full cost of the holiday is payable 56 days before arrival.

Cancellation:

Cancellation by you:

Cancellations must be immediately notified to us and confirmed in writing. The treatment of a cancellation will depend on a) the date the booking was made, and b) when the cancellation is made:

Bookings placed after 9th June 2020 (for holidays commencing after 01/08/2020) have Cancellation Protection cover under our Master Cancel Policy if you cancel between 60 days and 2 days prior to arrival.

If you cancel from 60 days up to and including 2 days before check-in date, you will receive a full refund of the lodging costs you have paid. Only lodging costs are refunded. Additional extras, including but not limited to cleaning fees, tax and other ancillary charges are not refunded. Refund payment for cancelled booking will be released back to the cancelling guest on the scheduled date of check-out of the original booking. Cancellations made 1 day prior to, or on the day of check-in will not be eligible for refund. Example: for a check-in on Saturday you could cancel the prior Thursday before 16.00 and be reimbursed in full, but not on Friday (1 day prior) or Saturday (day of check-in). For this reason we strongly recommend you take out your own travel insurance for UK holidays which covers booking cancellations. This is available at very affordable rates, and gives you the peace of mind that you will get your money back if you need to cancel your holiday. If you choose not to then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.

If you cancel 61 or more days before check-in date, we will endeavour to re-let the property for those dates. If we are able to re-let your dates, we will refund you the deposit amount (which may be less than you paid – e.g. if the final letting price was discounted or only some of the days are re-let) less an administration fee of 10%. If we are unable to re-let you remain responsible for the deposit and there will be no refund under any circumstances. For this reason we strongly recommend you take out your own travel insurance for UK holidays which covers booking cancellations. This is available at very affordable rates, and gives you the peace of mind that you will get your money back if you need to cancel your holiday. If you choose not to then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.

You will be reimbursed at the check-out date of your original booking.

Bookings placed before 9th June 2020 are not covered by the new Master Cancel Policy, but we are allowing a full refund in the event of a Government imposed ‘Lockdown’, or we will allow you to change dates (subject to tariff and availability) for any other reason, subject to notification being received not less than 48 hours prior to the commencement of the holiday. Cancellation by us:

If Aish Cross Holiday Cottages performance is hindered or prevented by a Force Majeure event (please see definition below), Aish Cross Holiday Cottages may, at its sole discretion, offer you:

i) a full refund; or ii) alternative holiday dates; or iii). such other remedy as Aish Cross Holiday Cottages considers appropriate with regard to the circumstances.

No additional compensation, expenses or costs will be payable.

CANCELLATION FORCE MAJEURE

In this contract, a Force Majeure event means any of the following circumstances which may hinder or prevent the performance of the contract, including but not limited to:

acts of God, flood, drought, earthquake or other natural disaster; epidemic or pandemic; terrorist attack, civil war, civil commotion or riots, war, threat of or preparation for war, armed conflict, imposition of sanctions, embargo, or breaking off of diplomatic relations; nuclear, chemical or biological contamination or sonic boom; any law or any action taken by a government or public authority, including without limitation imposing a restriction, prohibition, or failing to grant a necessary licence or consent; collapse of buildings, fire, explosion or accident; any labour or trade dispute, strikes, industrial action or lockouts; non-performance by suppliers or subcontractors; and interruption or failure of utility service.

Payment:

We ask for a 30% deposit at the time of booking, this can be done securely by card on line, or by a cheque payable to Aish Cross Holiday Cottages, Credit Card or Credit Bank Transfers to NatWest Bank, 108 Union Street, Torquay. Account No. 74757024, Sort Code 55-70-01 – notification of transfer or cheque payment must be given at the time of booking.

Group Bookings:

We reserve the right to refuse group bookings or other persons who in our opinion are unsuitable for the accommodation.

Number of Persons:

The number of persons allowed in each cottage is as shown in the brochure or on the website. Babies in cots are allowed in addition. You must satisfy yourselves that the accommodation offered will meet your requirements and we make no representations regarding suitability for more than the specified occupancy.

Keys:

The keys will be the responsibility of the hirer during their stay and any costs incurred through loss, damage, loss of access to the property or keys not being returned will be charged to the client in full.

Cots, Highchairs and Stairgates:

These are all available on request free of charge.

Pets:

Up to a maximum of two dogs are usually welcome. All dogs must be kept on a lead in the vicinity of the house, cottages and footpaths. You are required to clean up any mess for which your pet is responsible. Dogs are chargeable as stated in our Tariff payable at the time of booking. The Country Code must be followed particularly at lambing time and pets are not allowed on the beds or chairs. Pets must not be left unattended in the cottages at any time.

Cars:

There is ample uncovered parking, security lit at night.

Bed Linen & Towels:

All bed linen, tea towels and personal towels are included in the holiday price, but no bedding is provided for cots. At least one hair drier is provided in each bedroom.

Electricity and Gas:

Included in the hire charge.

Logs:

There are log burning stoves. Logs are provided free of charge.

Laundry:

We have a laundry room which you are welcome to use free of charge.

BBQ Lodge and Games Room:

These are available for the enjoyment of our guests. However, children aged 12 and under must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult. In view of Covid 19, we reserve the right to control the use of these facilities.

Liability:

Care must be taken by all guests at times. We do not accept responsibility for any damage to or loss of guests’ property, cars or contents and you agree to indemnity and hold us harmless from and against all actions, proceedings and claims (including reasonable legal fees incurred in defending the same) arising from your acts or omissions (and those in your party) whilst in our premises.

Smoking:

For the benefit of all guests, we ask patrons not to smoke on the premises.

Access Statements are available for each property and can be downloaded from our website.

Data Protection:

Data Privacy Statement: We treat any data collected during the course of making bookings or dealing with enquiries in strict confidence. Your data will never be sold. As members of Premier Cottages (a marketing collective of the best four and five star cottages in the UK) we have agreed to supply to Premier Cottages Ltd the names, postal and email addresses of all guests booking with us or proposing to book with us during the previous year, in order that these guests/potential guests may be sent a Premier Cottages brochure and sent promotional emails from time to time. By accepting these terms and conditions you are indicating your consent to receiving these communications from us unless you let us know otherwise, which you can do at the point of booking by ticking the Marketing Notes box in the extras section. If at any time you would like your details removed from this list all you need do is to click the unsubscribe link on any of the emails or contact us on info@aishcross.co.uk and we will arrange for you to be removed from the mailing list.
