Steeped in both natural beauty and history Campsie Glen is in a prime location for both relaxation and exploration. This Scandinavian style 3 bedroom lodge, sleeping 6 people is located right in the heart of Scotland in the Campsie Fells. Suitable sized for larger families or a group of friends the lodge is equipped with one double bedroom and 2 x twin bedrooms as well as a family bathroom and a fully fitted kitchen/dining area. Access to the lodge is via the outdoor decking which is perfect for relaxing with your morning cuppa or watching the sunset over the beautiful Campsie Hills in the evening.
There are an abundance of activities both on site and further afield for you to enjoy and explore. The lodge comes with patio furniture, a picnic table and a hot tub for your own private use. There is also a heated indoor swimming pool, toddler pool and an additional hot tub available for family fun activities as well as a family games room. Take advantage of the onsite bistro and relax on the outdoor terrace whilst the children expel some energy at the outdoor play area.
If you would like to get out and explore then there attractions and activities to suit all members of the family. The Royal Burgh of Stirling is a short drive from Campsie Glen and is steeped in history with a variety of attractions to suit all the family. Heading west brings you to the bustling city of Glasgow where arts, culture, shopping and the famous Scottish hospitality can be found in abundance. Visit Glasgow Cathedral, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum or the Burrell collection is a beautiful collection of art and antiques that were gifted to the city of Glasgow by Sir William Burrell in 1944. Set in a countryside setting this museum underwent extensive refurbishment in 2022 and is a must see visit to the city. Enjoy some retail therapy in the city centre and then take the subway out to the West End. Lots of nice pubs and eateries can be found on Ashton Lane. If you get chatting to any locals then you will soon learn that the spirit and attitude of the people provide the city's vibrant and distinctive quality and why “People Make Glasgow”.
If you fancy something a bit different head into the countryside towards the Glengoyne Distillery, take a tour and learn the distilling process that makes Scotland’s favourite dram, Whisky. Deanston Distillery near Stirling is another popular one to try. Beautiful countryside surrounds you so pack your hiking boots and take time to breathe in that fresh Scottish air. At Clachan of Campsie you will find access for the lower section of the Campsie Glen Gorge which will lead you to the lower glen waterfalls. They are particularly spectacular after a rainfall. For a flatter route then opt to walk or cycle along the Strathkelvin Railway Path. The 7.5 mile route follows the former railway line from Strathblane to Kirkintilloch and also starts at Clachan of Campsie. Bike hire is available here or chose to bring your own. After your busy day, rest your aching feet in your hot tub whilst you watch the sunset over the gentle rolling countryside.
