Steeped in both natural beauty and history Campsie Glen is in a prime location for both relaxation and exploration. This Scandinavian style 2 bedroom lodge, sleeping 4 people is located right in the heart of Scotland in the Campsie Fells. The lodge is equipped with one double bedroom and a twin bedroom as well as a family bathroom and a fully fitted kitchen/dining area. Access to the lodge is via the outdoor decking which is perfect for relaxing with your morning cuppa or watching the sunset over the beautiful Campsie Hills in the evening.

There are an abundance of activities both on site and further afield for you to enjoy and explore. The lodge comes with patio furniture, a picnic table and a hot tub for your own private use. There is also a heated indoor swimming pool, toddler pool and an additional hot tub available for family fun activities as well as a family games room. Take advantage of the onsite bistro and relax on the outdoor terrace whilst the children expel some energy at the outdoor play area.

If you would like to get out and explore then there attractions and activities to suit all members of the family. The Royal Burgh of Stirling is a short drive from Campsie Glen and is steeped in history. The majestic Stirling Castle dominates the skyline as it sits on a volcanic outcrop at the top of the town. Take a guided tour, enjoy a coffee from the rooftop café overlooking the Ochil Hills and marvel at the exquisite furnishings of the King James V Royal Palace. At the foot the Castle Esplanade is Stirling’s Old Town Jail, experience life and as a Victorian inmate, book yourself an escape room challenge or take an evening Ghost Walk. To calm your nerves after this real life experience stroll a little further down the hill to the newly opened Stirling Distillery and try one of their Gin cocktails.

If you have any energy left then drive over to the Wallace Monument which stands at 220ft high. Follow through the woodland walk to the entrance and then climb the 246 spiral steps to the top for a panoramic view of the Forth Valley and the meandering River Forth. On your drive back, stop by for some dinner at the Inn at Kippen. A family friendly, traditional village inn where you can sample some of the finest locally sourced Scottish produce. After your busy day, rest your aching feet in your hot tub whilst you watch the sunset over the gentle rolling countryside.

The property is located near to Glasgow and Stirling, both awaiting you to explore what they have to offer. If traveling by train the nearest stations are Stirling Station - 16 miles or Glasgow Central - 22 miles away.

The Fintry Inn is the local pub just 2 miles away, enjoyed by locals and visitors for its great food and entertainment.

Bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation will be available from 4pm on the start date of your holiday (subject to unavoidable delays). We always endeavour to have your property prepared and ready for this time, however, we would ask for your patience and understanding if access to your property may be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Departure is no later than 10am.
Where applicable touring pitches are available from 1pm and departure is midday.

BOOKING AND PAYMENT

Accepted methods of payment include credit or debit card. You must be at least 18 years of age before we can accept a booking from you. An initial deposit is required to secure a booking. If you booked a holiday with an arrival of 8 weeks or less, you will be required to make full payment at the time of your booking. Failure to pay will result in Largo Leisure Holidays treating the booking as being cancelled and available for reletting.

CANCELLATION BY YOU

If you want to cancel your booking, you must notify us as soon as possible and confirm this in writing by email to bookings@largoleisureholidays.co.uk. Provided the written notice of cancellation is received by us before the final balance is paid in full, only the deposit will be forfeited.
If we receive your cancellation once the balance is paid in full and it is within 8 weeks of your holiday start date, you will be liable to liable to pay the total cost of the holiday including any optional extras and no refund will be given. Any claim will need to be made directly with your holiday insurance provider. If you have booked via an agent please call your booking agent.
If we receive your cancellation once the balance is paid in full, you will be liable to pay the total cost of the holiday and no refund will be issued except for any optional extras which will be refunded in full providing more than 2 weeks’ notice is given.
If we receive less than 2 weeks’ notice, you will be liable to pay the total cost of the holiday including any optional extras and no refund will be given.

HOLIDAY INSURANCE

We consider adequate travel insurance to be essential. It is a condition of your contract with us that you should take out insurance to cover you in the event of illness (including Covid19), personal injury or death during your holiday and for cancellation.
Please read your policy details carefully and take them with you on holiday. You are responsible for ensuring that the insurance cover you purchase is suitable and adequate for your particular needs.

CHANGES MADE BY YOU

If you wish to change the dates of your holiday or your choice of property after confirmation has been issued then you will be liable to pay a handling fee of £20. Date/accommodation changes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Unfortunately, we are unable to change bookings if the booking is within 8 weeks of arrival.

CHANGES MADE BY US

Occasionally, we have to make changes to bookings. Whist we endeavour to avoid making major changes, we reserve the right to do so in exceptional circumstances. This might include offering you one of the following:
  • Change to accommodation - If the level of accommodation that you booked is unavailable, we will in the first instance, endeavour to upgrade your accommodation. Where higher grade accommodation is unavailable, we may accommodate your party in the next available lower grade and a refund difference in cost may be due.
  • Changes in date - If the date of the booking becomes unavailable, we may offer you alternative holiday dates. You may request a particular property when booking and this will be noted, however, if circumstances beyond our control dictate that your preferred property is not available, we reserve the right to move your booking to an alternative similar accommodation.
  • Largo Leisure Holidays cannot accept responsibility for any material loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience directly or indirectly caused by or arising out of the property, its plumbing, heating, electrical services or exceptional weather.
  • Our liability is limited to the cost paid by the customer. Largo Leisure Holidays will not be liable for any other expenses arriving from a cancelled holiday.
  • We strongly recommend you take out holiday insurance which includes cancellation expenses.


SPECIAL REQUESTS

whilst we will always do our best to accommodate any special requests made by you, such as allocation next door to family or friends, we cannot guarantee this. Any specific requests for a certain lodge name or area on park will be subject to £20 admin fee.

WEATHER –

At times we will experience adverse weather conditions. We aim to keep our driveway and main entrance clear but at times of heavy snowfall direct to- the- door access to all our accommodation may not be possible. We cannot be held responsible for travel disruptions resulting in non-arrival because of bad weather.

ON ARRIVAL -

Reception opening times vary. If you arrive when reception is closed, please go to the main Reception where signage will direct you to the key collection area.

THE PARK –

Our holiday parks are situated in rural locations so there are areas of uneven ground, natural hazards, unmade paths and limited lighting. Please therefore take special care to avoid accidents. It is strongly recommended that guests bring a torch to enhance movement around the park during hours of darkness. Please ensure you are aware of natural features such as rivers etc and supervise children and pets accordingly.

GROUP BOOKINGS

Family and friends who know each other or who travel together will be considered as making a group booking even if they have made separate bookings. The lead booker for a group is responsible for the conduct of the other members of the group and for ensuring they comply with these terms and conditions. Group bookings must be made in the name of one appointed person who will be the person responsible for the group and for making payment to Largo Leisure Holidays. We cannot accept individual payments towards the balance for a group booking.

GUEST RESTRICTIONS –

We aim to provide a great experience for all families and couples and to achieve this for our all our guests, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel bookings (without refund) from:
  • Persons under the age of 21.
  • All adult groups including stag and hen or any other parties that disrupt other guests.
  • Anyone who is abusive to our team either before or during their holiday.
  • Anyone else who we might think will spoil things for our other guests.


HOT TUBS

Some properties have hot tubs. On each departure all hot tubs are drained, cleaned and water replenished prior to each arrival (with the exception of our wood fired hot tubs which will not be replenished for arrival). This may mean that your hot tub will not be ready for use until later on in the evening of arrival or until the morning after arrival. We endeavour to get the hot tub ready for arrival. Please ensure you read and follow all guidelines regarding hot tub use. Any damage to hot tubs caused by misuse will be charged for. If the tub requires refilling during your stay due to misuse, there will be a charge £50 that must be paid prior to our team doing this.

CHILDREN

Children always remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians in the accommodation, on the park grounds and during any activities. Please ensure your children are always supervised and make sure you always know where your children are.

BEHAVIOUR

You are responsible for the behaviour of all members of your party. Please show consideration to other guests, our team and our location. Noisy or disruptive behaviour, wilful damage to the location or accommodation or other behaviour considered by our team to be inappropriate may result in us asking you or a member of your party to leave the location immediately. No refunds or compensation will be given in these circumstances, and we reserve the right to claim compensation for damages or inconvenience caused. Our parks are family friendly, and we ask all guests to respect this, especially so around the camping and glamping areas and to adhere to a quiet time from 10pm in the evening.

We reserve the right to evict offensive persons or pets. No refunds will be made. We reserve the right to make charges against credit cards or to invoice for damages.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Your property will be inspected after departure. You are responsible for the actual costs of any breakage or damage found in the accommodation along with any additional costs that may result. We reserve the right to refuse admission to any guest for any reason. We reserve the right to evict offensive persons or pets. No refunds will be made. We reserve the right to make charges against credit cards or to invoice for damages. Please note that some lodges on our parks are privately owned, therefore each lodge although offering the same basic inventory will have individual touches placed by the owner making each property unique in some ways.

LOST PROPERTY

Largo Leisure Holidays will not be held responsible for any items left behind or lost property. We would remind guests to please check you have taken all your belongings with you before departure. You are responsible for your personal possessions on park or in your holiday home and Largo Leisure Holidays is not responsible for any loss or damage to these.

NO SMOKING POLICY -

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all properties and shared amenity areas. Removal of smoke odours in buildings is extremely difficult and we reserve the right to evict any guest who we suspect is smoking or drug taking in any of our properties. Charges will be made to the guest to cover costs of any cleaning, deodorising, and any loss of future rental revenue, which may occur as a result of smoking within a property.

DOGS & PETS

Some properties allow pets when booking a property, you MUST inform us at the time of booking if you wish to bring a dog or a pet. We will then be able to advise if a pet friendly lodge is available. If you book a pet friendly lodge, please ensure that dogs are provided with their own bed. Up to two dogs are welcome in designated accommodation. Pets are not permitted on furniture or beds. Guests will be liable for any damage caused or extra cleaning that may be required and you will be charged for this accordingly. Pets must be kept on a lead at all times and please do not allow your dog to foul the areas in the immediate vicinity of the lodges. All dog waste must be collected. There are dog waste bins located around the park. Dogs must never be left unattended in the lodge unless caged. We strongly recommended that you take out adequate insurance cover before you book your holiday. Please make an extra effort before leaving the lodge to vacuum up all dog hairs. Annoyance to other guests if considered unreasonable will result in eviction. We do not accept dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act which are: Pit Bull Terrier, DogoArgentino, Fila Brasileiro and Japanese Tosa. XL bullies must be muzzled and kept on a lead at all times whilst staying on park. Our standard charges are £40.00 per week for a dog or £25.00 per short break in lodge and glamping accommodation and £25 per dog, per night for touring and camping holidays.

VEHICLES

Some of our accommodation allows parking for one or two cars depending upon the size of individual parking space beside your property. Please DO NOT Park on the grass, which will cause damage, or in such a way that you are obstructing another properties’ access. Any additional vehicles please use the main car park at reception. Please note at some of our parks we use CCTV with Number Plate recognition; this is for your security. You should comply with the park speed limit of 5mph. We also have charging points for electric vehicles available at some of our parks at a central location, please enquire at reception. Please do not use your accommodation to charge your car.

COMPLAINTS

It is important to us that you enjoy your holiday, and every effort has been made to ensure this. However, in the event of any concerns with your property, we as the booking agent, together with the property owner, will want to act as soon as possible. It is essential that you contact the team at the main reception immediately if any problem arises so that it can be resolved as soon as possible. It is extremely difficult (and sometimes impossible) to sort out difficulties unless reception is told promptly. If you report any issues to reception during your stay it can usually be resolved quickly. Under no circumstances will any refund be considered if we have not been given the opportunity to rectify any problems during your stay. We cannot accept any legal responsibility for your holiday property.

DEPARTURE AND CLEANING OF PROPERTY

Departure time is 10am and we reserve the right to remove any remaining items in your accommodation after this time. Please remember to give us back the keys and always leave your accommodation in a clean, tidy and undamaged condition.

CHANGES OF ADVERTISED SERVICES OR FACILITIES

Largo Leisure Holidays reserve the right to vary or withdraw any on site services or facilities as advertised without prior notice.

EVENTS OUTWITH OUR CONTROL

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under the Contract that is caused by any act or event beyond our reasonable control (Force Majeure Event).

Stirling Castle

On-site Facilities There is an on-site pool open from 10am, there are 45 minutes slots bookable at reception for a small charge via card only. (Last bookable slot is 4pm.) The pool is closed on Tuesdays. Also on-site is a bar and bistro providing entertainment on Saturday nights, opening times are subject to change depending on the season.

Fintry - You can explore the Campsie Glen Gorge and waterfall, cycle the Strathkelvin Railway Path, park at the Clachan of Campsie car park. For the more active individuals pop into Fintry Sports & Recreation Club.

Stirling - A 40 minute drive brings you to the Royal Burgh of Stirling. Steeped in history, visit Stirling Castle, The National Wallace Monument, The Old Town Jail, and Stirling Distillery plus many more things to explore.

Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park - Just outside Stirling and a 45 minute drive from Campsie Glen this is a fabulous day out for the family. Pop into see over 350 rare and exotic animals and even get in your car and see the animals on a drive through safari.

SEA LIFE Loch Lomond Aquarium - A 40 minute drive west brings you to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Dive in to the aquarium and learn all about the 1,500 creatures that live there including Pickle & Cub, two Asian Short Clawed Otters. Other options include taking a boat tour out on this famous loch or for the very extravagant book a sightseeing flight on a Loch Lomond Seaplane based at Cameron House Hotel just north of the town of Balloch.

Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park - Venture into the local nature around you and go spotting for red deer & birds of prey. More Information on activities can be found at the visitor centre in Balmaha on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond.

Local Whisky Tours - Glengoyne distillery is a 15 minute drive west. Why not book a tour of a local distillery that has been going since 1833.

Auchentoshan Distillery is another 15 minutes further west. Here you will find the only Single Malt Whisky in Scotland that is triple distilled.

Deanston Distillery – A 45 minute drive north east, just outside Stirling. Here, the Deanston Malt is produced in a former cotton mill. The soft water of the River Teith is ideal or perfecting the Deanston blend and also powers the running of the distillery.
